The main results indicate that the PPD process makes use of a secret key that is unknown to the unknown subject. In this paper, we present an information-theoretic-based study to examine the security and privacy of PPD. One type of unknown person detection task is called passive person detection (PPD), a scenario in which a monitor or camera captures an unknown or suspicious person in a predefined environment and automatically detects the presence of this unknown person without the help of any person-detection algorithm.
